Batik fabric is an ancient art form that originated on the island of Java.  It's history dates back over 2000 years, making it one of the oldest textile traditions in the world.  The word "batik" is derived from the Javanese word "ambatik" which means "a little cloth with little dots", and involves wax-resist dyeing on fabric.💦 Testing out the irony of graphic batik printing... as I reach for another cup of "Java"- and wonder what it would look like spilled!
